Moody's Bistro - located in the heart of old town Truckee. This is where Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance with a local band in both 2003 & 2004. Live jazz every Wednesday through Saturday evenings. Casual elegance with superb fare. Excellent ambience for cocktails as well. Towards the expensive.


The Cottonwood - located across the Truckee River and overlooks downtown Truckee. Californian fare with some more exotic dishes thrown in like rabbit or venison. Be sure to ask for their Caesar Salad – it’s one of their specialties!


OB's - in downtown, old town Truckee. Excellent ambience with old wooden walls and ceiling, casual lounge with sports TV while you wait for your table, and immediate service. Food is good old-fashioned American with burgers to prime rib, fish 'n chips to salmon, and penne pasta to Greek pasta salad. Moderately priced and is my favorite place to share with my friends.


The Squeeze Inn - is the local's favorite breakfast joint. Next to O.B.'s in old town, downtown Truckee. They have 100 different omelets, crêpes, pancakes, and various other hearty servings. Enjoy!


Village Pizzeria - has the BEST pizza anywhere, and I’ve eaten in a lot of pizzerias, it was actually voted the best pizza in Truckee. Eddie’s pastas and salads are serious fare, too. World famous garlic chips. Locatedin Truckee’s SaveMart-Longs plaza.


Dragonlfy - located in downtown Truckee, Dragonfly has delicious Asian-fusion cuisine, and a new sushi bar. The Summer months provide outdoor seating overlooking the main thoroughfare.


The Lodge - located at the Tahoe Donner Golf Course, and offers a warm & soothing atmosphere, fantastic service, and gourmet cuisine. The Lodge also has a great bar.
