Five Lakes – located between Alpine and Squaw Valley and is a steep 2.5 mile hike up to small lakes right on the Sierra Crest. Worth the effort! The trailhead is midway up Alpine Meadows Road.

Eagle Lakes - takes off from the head of Emerald Bay across from Eagle Falls. A gentle 1 mile hike to beautiful alpine lakes and has awesome views Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe beyond…

Weber Falls – is the secret gem of the Sierras. The drive to the trailhead is along an incredible alpine valley, on the way to Jackson Meadows, and it features a 200 foot waterfall, an offshoot of the Little Truckee River.

Shirley Canyon - starts off as a beginner hike along a beautiful flowing creek with rock outcroppings, small waterfalls, and old growth trees. (But then continues a steeper climb up to the top.) Access this trail behind The Olympic Village Inn.

Tahoe Donner – so many great trails wind throughout the Tahoe Donner Community, appropriate for a hike, or for your mountain bike. Click here for a downloadable trail map of Tahoe Donner.

Desolation Wilderness – can be accessed from deep on Tahoe’s west shore, near the base of Mount Tallac. This beautiful US Forest area features a diverse environment and beautiful views every step of the way.

The Tahoe Rim Trail – offers some of our best hiking options. It can be accessed from almost anywhere around The Lake. Additionally, the majority of the trail is located on the ridge tops, offering breathtaking vistas.
